I used to watch shark tank often during my free time. I didn’t really think I would have to do it myself. I’m not complaining though, I quite enjoyed myself and have also made a lot of observations. When it comes to pitching a business to investors, marketing skills is extremely important. That is obvious of course, but it is not the only thing the investors would like to look at. Investors are more interested in the business’s blood, also known as money. They want to know the forecasting, if they will profit, or if it is not worth investing in.
It was important to know your business inside out and to be realistic when it comes to your forecasting. It also helped me realize how important having a team is. To be able to hear their inputs helped in further improving and solidifying our pitch and business idea. Communication and being able to present you company and product are essential in convincing not only investors, but with your team as well. It was an overall, fun, and educational activity.
